DarkScreen does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app works entirely on your device and does not require an internet connection to function.
What data does DarkScreen collect?
None. DarkScreen does not collect any personal information, usage analytics, device identifiers, or any other data about you or your device. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising IDs, and no tracking of any kind built into the app.
What permissions does DarkScreen use, and why?
Display over other apps — required to show the dark overlay window on top of whatever app you are using. This permission is used solely to render the overlay; no content from other apps is read, recorded, or transmitted.
Internet access — used exclusively to process the one-time in-app
purchase through Google Play Billing. DarkScreen itself never sends any data over this connection; all purchase processing is handled directly by Google Play.
Does DarkScreen use the internet for anything else?
No. Outside of the one-time purchase flow handled by Google Play Billing, DarkScreen does not make any network requests. The app's core functionality (the dark overlay, window settings, brightness control) works completely offline and never leaves your device.
Does DarkScreen share data with third parties?
No. Since DarkScreen does not collect any data, there is nothing to share. The only third party involved at all is Google Play, which processes the one-time purchase under its own privacy policy.
Where are your settings stored?
Your window size, position, and brightness preferences are stored locally on your device only, using Android's standard app storage. This data never leaves your device and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the app.
Children's privacy
DarkScreen does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new "last updated" date.
