These new hybrids closely resemble the original Snow Leopard bodies, with a handful of differences presumably obtained from the foxlike other half of the fusion. Their ears are pointed, almost batlike in appearance, and a tail with the length of a leopard and shape of a fox's tail. Most possess a ring of chest fur, regardless of gender, and their rosettes have vanished completely.

The Dark Sneps have inherited the weakness to light shown by the Shadow Walkers, yet strangely at a more extreme level. Potentially due to being an amalgamate of the two vastly different biologies, the species reacts violently to light in the form of cell disruption that tears the body apart almost instantly. Due to this, their species is fragile and on the verge of extinction; only two of the original four MDL-DLS subjects survived long enough to reproduce, even in the dark environment they were created within.

Dark Sneps all have been seen to have primarily green eyes; likely due to genetics, however mutations have been observed as early as the second generation of the species.

The species appears to form bonds with each other, almost requiring the comfort of another to function. Were one to be forcefully separated from others of its kind, they have been seen to lose hope of reconnection as well as a lack of response to hunger or thirst.

Dark Sneps can consume a substance referred to as 'Shadow Goo', and it has been used to replace missing limbs from injuries. Consumption of the voidlike mass has shown to assist with development, stress reduction, and can help with labor. Specifically, it speeds pregnancy by using the goo as cells for the offspring’s body, as well as having a high content in the ‘nutrients’ they need to live.
