Getting started

What is Dareyou? Dareyou is a habit-accountability app. You pick a habit, set how long the dare runs, and commit in-app GEMs to it. You log each day you show up and track your streak, your show-up rate, and badges.

What are GEMs? GEMs are an in-app unit you commit to a dare when you create it. New accounts start with 21 free GEMs, which is enough to run one 21-day dare without paying anything. GEMs have no cash value and cannot be transferred or cashed out.

How dares work

How much does a dare cost? One GEM per day. A 21-day dare costs 21 GEMs, shown before you create it and paid when you create it.

Do I get my GEMs back if I finish? No. GEMs are spent when you create a dare, and the cost is the same whether you finish every day or stop early. Finishing a dare earns you the habit, your streak, your show-up rate, and badges — including marathon badges for dares of 30, 90, 180, and 365 days. It does not return GEMs.

What are grace days? Grace days are the number of days you can miss and still have the dare recorded as passed. They affect only whether a dare passes or fails in your own stats. They do not change your GEM balance.

Can I cancel a dare? You can cancel a dare that is scheduled but has not started yet, and the GEMs you committed to it are returned in full. Once a dare has started, the GEMs committed to it have been spent.

Purchases

How do I buy more GEMs? Open the GEMs screen and choose a pack. Packs are one-time, consumable purchases — there are no subscriptions and nothing to renew. Prices are shown by the App Store at the time of purchase.

How do refunds work? Purchase and refund requests for GEM packs are handled by your App Store account under Apple's refund policy. For billing help, email edustarstudio@gmail.com with the subject line "Billing Issue - Dareyou".

Account and data

How do I delete my account? In the app: Profile → Edit profile → Delete account. This removes your account and its associated data.
