Research Interests

Bio

I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Dominik Michels and Prof. Helmut  Pottmann at the KAUST Visual Computing Center. I obtained my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees  from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). During my doctoral studies, I spent a year as an exchange student at TU Delft in the Netherlands. Before joining KAUST, I worked at the ShanghaiTech University as a Research Assistant Professor. My main fields of research are Physical Simulation and Geometric Computing, and their applications in computer graphics, visualization, computer aided design, digital fabrication and robotics. My past research work was centered around fluid phenomena and thin structures.

News

[03/2024] I have 2  papers that have been conditionally accepted by the journal track of SIGGRAPH 2024, Denver 28 JUL-1 AUG, US.

[01/2024] I was invited to deliver an online talk at Nanjing University (NJU) on the topic of "Physical Simulation and Geometric Computing for Computer Graphics". In this talk, I began by providing a concise overview of my research endeavors and areas of interest. Subsequently, I delved into a detailed presentation of our recent paper titled "Deployable Strip Structures".

[12/2023] I highly recommend the paper titled "Meshes with Spherical Faces" which got the prestigious Best Paper Award at SIGGRAPH Asia 2023. This paper builds upon and  extends our previous research on deployable strip structures. The authors further investigated the spherical meshes from the viewpoint of Mobius geometry.

[07/2023] Our paper "Deplyable Strip Structures" received the Best Paper Honorable Mention Award at SIGGRAPH 2023 !

[05/2023] Our paper "Deployable Strip Structures" is accepted by ACM SIGGRAPH 2023, which will be held in Los Angeles, United States.

[03/2023] Our paper "Urban Flow: Designing Comfortable Outdoor Areas" is accepted by the symposium on Simulation for Architecture and Urban Design (SIMAUD 2023), which will be held in Toronto, Canada.
