My grandfather was an electrician apart of the working class. My grandmother who stayed home raised us. My father was an inmate in the Angola prison. He was wrongfully convicted to death row. My father later was aquitted after ten years. The State of Louisiana offered him ten dollars. A dollar for every year he spent locked away in a cell enduring inhumane living conditions. Once I was old enough to learn about why I wasn't able to see my father I guess you can say that started my journey to the path I am walking now.
I was always confused on what career I wanted because we were told you have to go to college and get a good job but what I did know was that I had a passion for activism and showing people our voices matter we are the 99 percent for a reason. I went to every protest I could attend if it came to protecting women's rights, police brutality, LGBTQ +, pro union strikes. We all make up this great city. That sparked my interest In getting involved with organizations who think like me. Since then I have been apart of a number of organizations like
