The Pi Shop uses the Raspberry Pi HD camera installed on a Pi Zero to make a compact, portable high-performance photo and video system. The Pi Camera has a Python API for student exercises in still photography, time-lapse and stop-motion, and full video projects.

The Pi Shop photo studio in action! Students enter a Python script and use a push button switch to take photos. We use a video projector to create a static or changing background and then set the stage with characters and props.

The Pi Zero camera view of the scene is displayed live on the monitor on the left so each picture can be composed. Students take pictures to create a story line, then use open-source apps to combine the images into a video and can even add a soundtrack!
