Short Bio
Danny P. Claro is (full) Professor of Marketing (teaching undergrad, MBA, Exec Ed, Master, PhD) in Insper (2004-current), fellow of the Brazilian Marketing Academy, and was awarded with the esteemed US Fulbright Scholarship for his academic achievement. Associate Dean of Master and Doctoral Professional Programs (2023-current), Leader of the Center for Marketing Analytics (2016-current), Academic Leader of the Insper Marketing Sounding Board (ICCM; 2022-current), Member of the Insper Academic Board (2022-2023), and Member of the Graduate Academic Board (2009-current). He was the Associate Dean of the Master Program in Business Strategy (2010-2013) and Director of the Center for Strategy Research (2007-2010). He was Visiting Professor at Thunderbird School of Global Management (Winter/13) and Member of the Scientific Committee in the Anpad (Association of Business Programs; 2019-21). Launched in Jan/2016, his Coursera Introduction to Marketing Analytics is rated 4.7 stars and over 50 thousand learners.
Prof. Claro earned his PhD in Business Administration in Wageningen University, the Netherlands (2004), and an engineering bachelor’s degree (1995) and master’s degree in business (1999) in UFLA. He enrolled in his professional training in Business and Marketing Management at University of Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Harvard Business School, Kellogg School of Business e Darden School of Business. He is author of articles published in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, International Journal of Research in Marketing, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Management Studies, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Supply Chain Management among others. He received more than a dozen research awards including two best paper awards from the AMA (American Marketing Association) and the esteemed George Stigler award.
His practitioner activities include projects in the field of Marketing Relationship, CRM, Sales Force Management, Marketing Analytics, Marketing Channels with companies like Allston Brew, BASF, Bayer Pharma, Biorigin, Boticário, Bunge, Caixa Seguridade, Cargill, CESAR, Enext, Itaú, Cosan, Monsanto, Nufarm, Netafim, Prime Clean, Santander, TAM, Tigre.
His training and workshops over the past 18 years include companies such as J&J, AB-Imbev (Ambev), Pepsi, Abril, Roche, Bradesco, Ford, Gerdau, Santander, CPFL, ABRASCE, and Toyota.
