Daniyar's academic journey in the United States began when he was awarded the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship as a high school senior, enabling him to pursue higher education at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. There, he excelled academically and earned the All-USA Academic Team award, recognizing his exceptional academic and leadership abilities.
After graduating, Daniyar entered the highly competitive world of management consulting at Bain & Company, where he honed his skills in strategic business evaluation and operations. His ambition and expertise propelled him to a significant role at Lehman Brothers in New York, where he was part of their Technology Media and Telecom group. His tenure there, including stints in New York and London, equipped him with a deep understanding of global finance and investment strategies.
In 2007, Daniyar chose to return to Kazakhstan, where he quickly rose to prominence at Renaissance Capital. His sharp insight and leadership led him to take on pivotal roles, notably in private equity, where he served as the Director of Investments at a leading firm, spearheading significant deals in the telecom and retail sectors. Additionally, he established the Kazakhstan Hong Development Fund, a $400 million initiative that attracted substantial investment from Hong Kong and collaborated closely with the Kazakh government.
Expanding his business interests, Daniyar ventured into the media industry by founding Arai Media and Arai Production, swiftly growing it into a leading content production company in Kazakhstan. After successfully selling this venture, he acquired Basel Insurance and engaged in a fruitful partnership with Everest Capital Management, focusing on real estate development in Almaty. He oversees Basel Insurance as its sole shareholder, a company renowned for its robust growth and strategic market presence.
Daniyar is also deeply committed to social causes, mainly focusing on developing and mentoring underprivileged youth. He is dedicated to providing educational and financial support, career guidance, and mentorship, initially inspired by his participation in an Iftar dinner at an orphanage. This commitment has grown into a broader initiative to empower young individuals to achieve their potential.
