International Folkdance
I have been folkdancing since I was in high school, taught by the wonderful couple, Al and Teddy Wolterbeek in the Tance El Dorado group. International folk dance is usually choreographed, or semi-choreographed dance. The dances come from a variety of cultures, countries, and ethnic groups. My favorites are Israeli, Romanian, Armenian, Russian, Turkish, and Greek.
My husband and I currently dance with the Columbia Folkdancers, which meet at 8 pm every Wednesday evening at Kahler Hall.
Mostly I do recreational folkdance (aka not performances), but here's a couple videos from Stockton Folk Dance Camp (Summer 2011):
