Beginning in the tranquil town of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, his journey is a testament to enduring perseverance, a deep-rooted sense of ambition, and a touch of fortuitous fate. Initially hailing from Canada, he found a new path in St. Augustine, Florida, a shift instigated by a pivotal car accident that expanded his global view, eventually settling in the United Kingdom.
His professional landscape spans various industries, including real estate and housing development, golf course creation, oil and gas, cable television, plastics manufacturing, utility services, and waste management. He has been instrumental in advising, establishing, and leading numerous companies across these varied sectors, excelling in complex problem-solving, strategic capital generation, and tactical corporate planning.
He notably played a foundational advisory and investor role in Allied Waste Industries, a key player in waste management, which later merged with and transitioned into the identity of Republic Services. His career inception was in real estate development, where he extensively developed large-scale, mixed-use real estate projects in Texas, California, and Arizona, covering acquisition, design, planning, and financial management.
His educational background is as broad as his professional scope. He began with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Georgetown University, proceeded to earn a Law degree from the University of Saskatchewan, and subsequently gained admission to the bar in British Columbia. His academic pursuits continued at Harvard University's School of Business Administration, where he completed the acclaimed Owner/President Management Program. Furthering his financial insights, he studied Executive Finance at Oxford Templeton College in the UK.
