MBEA2149 | DESIGN THESIS | NEW SPIRIT
Kampong Bharu Digital Heritage Centre acts as a place to preserve the history and heritage that is gradually decaying through up to date digitisation methods whilst curating newer digital exhibitions for the world to experience. With an external ring circulation to showcase various physical exhibitions and a large central hall catered to digital exhibitions, this heritage centre will be a go-to place for visitors from around the world to be able to explore the history of an urban village called Kampong Bharu physically and virtually. Being digital, the exhibitions can be displayed online or in other digital musuems around the world. I believe this would be the future of museums. Architecturally, this building is supported by 12 main pillars and its upper floors as suspended from above. This allows for an uninterrupted large public open amphitheatre below for locals and visitors to congregate (orcourse after getting their favourite snacks from the famous food street nearby).
