Helping Students Master Reading and Writing with Confidence
For 25 years, I have taught middle school English Language Arts in Madison, NJ, while living in Verona, helping students grow as readers, writers, and critical thinkers. In my tutoring, I draw on this classroom experience to create targeted, supportive instruction for students in grades 4–10, focusing on reading comprehension, written expression, organization, and academic confidence.
I have extensive experience designing and aligning ELA curriculum, using tools such as Google Workspace, digital notebooks, and AI to make learning more engaging and accessible. When I work with a student, I look closely at their strengths, challenges, and current school expectations so I can tailor each session to what they truly need.
Typical Areas of Focus
Elementary ELA (Grades 4–6): Reading comprehension, grammar, writing foundations, vocabulary.
Middle School (Grades 7–8): Analytical reading, writing structure, literary devices, essay development.
High School (Grades 9–10): Academic writing, argument and synthesis essays, literature analysis.
BOOK A FREE CONSULTATION
A free consultation is a relaxed, 15–20 minute conversation with you designed to understand your child’s needs and determine the best plan for support. During this time, we’ll briefly review current reading and writing strengths, look at any recent work samples you’d like to share, discuss specific goals/concerns, and review current and upcoming assignments along with teacher/class expectations.
