What experience do you have?

With over a decade of experience as an MC, I've had the privilege of being a part of an incredible array of events and performances. My Bachelor of Arts in Creative Industries, with a major in Live Performance, has given me a comprehensive understanding of event management and coordination, and I've honed my skills at festivals of all sizes, including kid and family events, large-scale festivals, conferences, private functions, awards nights, conventions, community events, and public speaking workshops.

Throughout my journey, I've honed my MC skills to become a pro at engaging with audiences and making events unforgettable. I'm not just an MC, I'm a master of ceremonies who knows how to keep the show running smoothly and bring an electrifying energy to any event. Whether you're planning a festival, conference, private function, awards night, or any other event, I'm confident that my skills, expertise, and passion for MCing will make me a valuable asset to your project.

What do you actually do?

As a professional emcee,  I specialise in:

Introducing speakers:  I will introduce speakers and ensure that they have everything they need for their presentations.

Keeping the event on schedule:  I will ensure that the event stays on schedule and that there are no unexpected delays or interruptions.

Making announcements:  I will make announcements throughout the event, such as informing the audience about breaks or upcoming activities.

Engaging the audience:  I will engage the audience and help keep them interested in the event. This may include telling jokes, trivia, or stories that are relevant to the event's theme or tone.

Handling unexpected situations:   I am confident with and can handle unexpected situations that may arise during the event, such as technical difficulties or changes in the schedule.

Adding a personal touch:  As a good emcee, I will add a personal touch to the event by incorporating my own style and personality into the event.

Providing support to event staff:  I will provide support to other event staff and vendors, such as coordinating with production or technical teams, to ensure that the event runs smoothly.

Do you bring your own mic and speakers?

As a professional emcee, I prefer to work with the equipment supplied at the event as it is deemed to be of a higher standard and more appropriate for the space. I believe that utilizing the equipment provided enhances the overall quality of the performance and gives a more polished and seamless presentation. However, I do maintain a compact and efficient emcee kit for contingency purposes. 

What is the role of an Emcee at an event?

As the host of any event, an emcee plays a crucial role in setting the tone and creating a memorable experience for all in attendance. They are the life of the party, making sure everything runs smoothly while keeping the audience engaged and entertained.

An emcee needs to have the gift of gab, speaking with confidence and clarity in front of large crowds. They must be quick on their feet, able to handle any unexpected situations with grace and ease. They also need to be able to build a connection with the audience, making them feel at ease and leaving them with a positive impression of the event.

Beyond just keeping the event running smoothly, an emcee adds a personal touch by incorporating humor, interesting anecdotes, and trivia that are relevant to the theme or tone of the event. They are the bridge between events and activities, keeping the audience entertained and engaged during transitions.

How do I find the right MC for my event?

Experience:  An experienced emcee will have a proven track record of hosting successful events and will know how to handle various situations that may arise during the event

Personality:  A great emcee should have a charming and engaging personality that can entertain and engage the audience. Look for someone with a positive attitude and a sense of humour that will connect with your guests.

Communication skills:  A good emcee should have excellent communication skills, including clear and articulate speech, and the ability to speak in front of a large audience. They should also be able to think on their feet and improvise if necessary.
