Dan Myers is President of Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. He previously served as Provost and Chief Academic Officer at American University and Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Before that he served at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana as Professor of Sociology and in several administrative positions including Vice President and Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs.

Myers earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s in higher education and student affairs from Ohio State University before completing a master’s and doctorate in sociology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Myers’ research examines racial rioting in the 1960's and 1970's, deterministic and stochastic models of diffusion for collective violence, mathematical models of collective action, media coverage of protests, demonstrations, and riots, and game theoretic analyses of small group negotiation. He has published many books and articles on these topics and won awards for his teaching and research.
