Teaching R to Undergraduates

The following notes are an example of how to instruct undergraduate students through completing a project using the Median Voter Model. The PDF's should be read in the order in which they are listed (from top to bottom). Additionally, the first file is a CSV with example data from Question 1 on Maine's 2010 Ballot. This will be necessary to use if you would like to follow along with the examples in the PDF's. There are questions to check your learning at the conclusion of many of the files. I suggest that in-class exercises are used in conjunction with the notes and homework questions. These can be provided for your use upon request.

Please email me with any questions, to receive homework answers, or for use in your own classroom.

Teaching LaTeX to Undergraduates

The following notes are a document introducing students to LaTeX. These notes cover the basics of adding packages in the preamble, bolding and italicizing text, creating tables, inserting figures, and adding citations. These notes are created with the expectation that students will be using Overleaf as their LaTeX editor.
