24.01.2022 - Our work on phage endolysins was published in Scientific Reports.

20.12.2021 - Our master student Raquel Gonçalo has defended her Master thesis at the Faculty of Sciences of the University fo Lisbon.

23-26.11.2021 - We have participated in Microbiotec 21 with two posters showing our most recent results on the synergism between phage endolysins and antimicrobial peptides, and on the ocurrence of multimeric endolysins.

19-23.07.2021 - We have received two highschool students in our lab in the scope of Ciência Viva.

07.2021 - We have participated on the iMed.ULisboa internal meeting with two posters.

14.01.2020 - The work resulting from a collaboration with Rute da Fonseca at the University of Copenhagen was published online at NAR Genomics and Bioinformatics.

09-11.01.2020 - I was acting as a convener at the Funny Animals seminar at the Anthropocene Campus Lisboa: parallax.

06.01.2020 - I joined the group of Carlos São-José to study "Fusion of complementary antibacterial functions as a new strategy to generate alternative agents to fight antibiotic-resistant pathogens".

Research interests

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Farmacy of the University of Lisbon.


My current research deals with phage endolysins and their potential as new enzybiotics.
