I'm a number theorist and algebraic geometer employed in the Teach@Tübingen programme at the University of Tübingen in the Analysis work group led by Anton Deitmar. I am primarily interested in deformation rings and the Langlands Programme. I completed my PhD in September 2023 at Durham University under the supervision of Jack Shotton.
My mathematical interests include number theory, algebraic geometry, representation theory, the Langlands programme and patching methods.
Outside of mathematics, I love to go on adventures (hiking, cycling or rail trips), especially in the mountains (see right a picture of myself next to the Linn of Tummel on a trip to Pitlochry in the Scottish highlands). More recently, I have spent time exploring south-western Germany, including the Mittelrheintal, Schönbuch and the Black Forest. I also sing tenor in an a cappella Chamber Choir (https://vokalkunst.de/) and enjoy culinary exploration (cooking).

In some cases, an explanation regarding why I have two names (Funck and Clark) may be necessary. I was married in September 2022 and I have decided to take my wife's name (that is, Funck). I may still be known as Daniel Clark according to some organisations.
