I began square dancing in 1987 with my wife Gail. In 1988 we joined the Ramblin’ Rogues Square Dance club in Mission Viejo, CA. After many years of dancing and being officers in the club, I started to help the beginners class “pre-warm-up” the 30 minutes before each class. I got hooked, and the bug of becoming a caller became quite clear. At the SD Nationals in Long Beach, CA in 2009 I took my first caller class. I then took a second caller class at the Square Dance Nationals in Louisville, KY in 2010 and called for the first time there to 15 squares in a packed hall. My first professional dance came in September of 2010 for the Dancing Stars in Huntington Beach, CA with 14 squares of supportive friends. I picked up other dances and guest tips along with teaching my own Plus-level DBD workshop. I have called now at 12 National Square Dance Conventions and will be in Shreveport, Louisiana June 2025.

​I now call all over the world from SSD, Mainstream, Plus and thru A2. I will call wherever I can get an opportunity. I have instructed Square Dancing to hundreds of party nights and private parties all over California and Texas.

I love to teach Square Dancing to new beginners and have graduated 25 beginners' classes and love teaching new dancers how great square dancing is.

I have also started, and taught, a “Handicapables” class/club in Mission Viejo, CA, called "Hand-n-Hand" for the Adult Special Needs. This was the most rewarding experience to see the smiles and hear the laughter of the dancers. 

I call over 100 dances a year, including Texas and North Carolina State, and National conventions. I hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology from University of Phoenix. I was a computer technician/Customer Service Rep for Williamson County, Georgetown, TX until I retired in December 2023. I am a National and International full-time traveling caller.
