Unarchiving Dance through Interpreting Colonial Visual Cultures of Manipur, 1891-1949

My project 'Unarchiving Dance' stories indigenous performance cultures from material and visual cultures from colonial archives. The first phase of the archival research has received the BA - SRG and is on the UK and Manipur. In time, 'unarchiving' will be explored through performance, photographic, and print cultures from the northeast region of India, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
