Project Outline:

Title: UNIT RHYTHMS – Celebrating Pan-Africanism.

This Project explores the spirit of unity, resilience, and liberation that Pan-Africanism represents. It pays tribute to the extraordinary contributions of African peoples throughout history. The show will have 4 acts and will include 10 dancers - rehearsal started June 2024.

The Show Premiere is on November 1st, 2024 at the Scotiabank Dance Centre.

UNITY RHYTHMS is an innovative Afro-dance theatre production aimed at celebrating the rich cultural heritage of African dance and music. This project is inspired by the desire to showcase the diversity and vibrancy of African rhythms, as well as to promote unity and understanding among people of different backgrounds. The production seeks to highlight the beauty and power of traditional African dances, while also incorporating modern elements to create a dynamic and captivating performance. The timing of this project is particularly significant as it comes at a time when the world is increasingly recognizing the importance of cultural diversity and the need for unity in the face of global challenges. Through UNITY RHYTHMS, we aim to contribute to this dialogue by offering a platform for cultural exchange and appreciation, as well as by promoting the values of inclusivity and togetherness. We hope that this production will not only entertain and inspire audiences but also foster a greater sense of connection and mutual respect among people from all walks of life.

Technical requirements required on-site, briefly:  Sound system and presence of a technician (sound assistance, connection, editing) or the artist can bring a portable speaker to play a pre-recorded of Afrobeats and Rwandan drums.

Space required (specify size of area and floor type ): Clear, flat surface, indoors or outdoors. Any type of floor.
