Guidelines
Costumes
The ITD Parent Portal has costume requirements!
Just make sure you are logged in and there is a lot of key information you will need.
Undergarments - all students should have either a nude bodysuit, or nude seamless underwear and Capezio clear back adjustable bra (https://www.bodythings.ca/capezio-nude-beige-bra-with-clear-back-strap.html).
For costume distribution, bring a small suitcase or duffel bag to hold them. Don't forget your nude undergarments, tan tights and ballet tights!
Cross check the various pieces against the costume list the dancers are given to ensure you have everything.
Any supplies you need will be listed under the costume section on the portal.
Dresses, skirts and tutus should be hung up and protected with a garment bag or similar.
For shows, layout costumes in the suitcase in the order of the dances (i.e. first number on top and finale on bottom).
Consider providing large Ziploc bags to pack the costumes in after they have been worn.
Pack makeup remover wipes, spare safety pins, hairpins, elastics and hairspray.
Please wear your team jacket to Dance Alive shows!
Rhinestones
Some costumes will require rhinestones.
For the costumes that need to be stoned, the stones will be supplied by ITD and sent home with the dancers.
See instructions on how the stones are to be applied: Rhinestones
The recommended supplies are listed on the portal under costumes and are the responsibility of families to provide.

Make up removing wipes are a must for every dance bag!
Hair
Two Dutch braids, low ponytail, straightened ponytail.
When braiding your child's hair, begin with damp hair that has some product in it (ideally gel). This will make a big difference in the wispy fly-aways.
Elastic should match hair colour.
Bring a brush to smooth hair before going on stage.

Parent Tips
Please ensure you are noting the call times for shows and bringing your dancers on time.
Please drop your dancers off and ensure they make into the facility.
If you choose to stay and watch at Senior home performances - we ask you stay at the back and leave seating and best views for residents and guests.
We also ask that parents refrain from going backstage at any shows, unless they are the designated volunteer. Space is often tight and there is a lot of activity to get ready for the show.
