The ITD Parent Portal has costume requirements!
Once you log in to to 'info' and costumes' to see lots of important details regarding tights, shoes and more.
Undergarments - all students should have either a nude bodysuit, or nude seamless underwear and Capezio clear back adjustable bra. (https://www.bodythings.ca/capezio-nude-beige-bra-with-clear-back-strap.html).
Please note, not all bras will suit the needs of all dancers, costumes or movment styles. Dancers may need to accumulate strapless bras, sports bras etc. in addition to the Capezio, and use their judgment on what will suit their needs for each piece.
For costume distribution, bring a small suitcase or Rac and Roll to hold them. Ensure you are wearing a black bodysuit and tan tights to help the fitting process go quickly.
Any supplies you need will be listed under the costume section on the portal.
Costumes should be hung up and protected with a garment bag or similar.
Garment Bags are not supplied unless shipped in one by the costume company. We recommend a clear bag with compartments for accessories and shoes that are easily visible.
For shows where a rack and roll is not appropriate, layout costumes in the suitcase in the order of the dances (i.e. first number on top and finale on bottom).
Consider providing large Ziploc bags to pack the costumes in after they have been worn for showcase and spring show quick changes.
Pack makeup remover wipes, spare safety pins, hairpins, elastics and hairspray. Always have an emergency kit on hand at performances!
Please wear your team jacket to all events!
Rhinestones and other take home projects
Some costumes will require rhinestones.
For the group costumes that need to be stoned, the stones will be supplied by ITD and sent home with the dancers.
See instructions on how the stones are to be applied: Rhinestones
The recommended supplies are listed on the portal under costumes and are the responsibility of families to provide.
Jazz Line - Dancers are required to apply hot glue dots across the palm and fingers of the red gloves to help with grip for lifts and floor work. We recommend stretching the palm of the glove with a piece of cardboard to protect the other side of the glove. Please do not wear the gloves as you apply the hot glue!
Dancers are expected to bring these gloves weekly to rehearsal to practice with.
Apex Jazz - Dancers need to follow the attached instructions to remove loose cage attachements.

Senior Ballet - Please use the following photos as guidelines for the rhinestone placement. There will be approximately 85 red, 30 black and 10 crystal ab in the bodice design. 30 red, 12 black and 8 crystal ab for the 'belt' and then 60 red and 40 crystal scattered around the skirt.
Please note we have changed the tights and slippers back to their regular pink attire.
Minor Jazz - Goggles need glue reinforcement at lenses and strap attachement points. Please glue lenses to base with E6000 or Gorilla glue. Hot glue should be used to glue the straps at the attachment points to reinforce.
Arc Jazz - Bowler hats need clear elastic attached as chin strap. You can get clear elastic at Michaels. Measure length so it is snug but not overly tight, it should not pull or dig into the chin. Hand sew each end of the elastic to the inside of the hat, where the brim meets the crown, slightly towards the back so the elastic runs behind the ear, then under the chin.
Large Group Hip Hop - Glasses need silcone ear grips. https://a.co/d/hhK9ypj

Note this is our old supplier and some info is optional such as eye primer, lip primer and clear lip pencil
Do not apply shadow below the eye, keep the dark brown to the outer corner and crease only.
All dancers should apply black liner to the lash line.
No cat eye please
Neutral palette (medium brown, highlighter, dark brown), individual blush, mascara, eyeliner (top lid only).
Eyelashes, top lid only - Ardelle Wispies - transparent band, Demi Wispies (available at Shoppers).
Quo liner stick and liquid glue combo works well.
Red lip Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink "Dancer"
A lip brush helps with precise application, specially with the cupid's bow. A clear lip liner can help with clean application.
Make up removing wipes are a must for every dance bag!
Center part, slick back to low pony or bun is our standard hair style
When styling your child's hair, begin with damp hair and ample high hold gel. This is essential for the longevity of your hair style.
Elastics and pins must match hair colour.
Bring a brush to smooth ponytails before going on stage.
Please note, occasionally choreographers will request different hair and make up to suit their piece's costume and overall style. We will accommodate this where we can once the final event schedules are released.
We are using team wide, 'diamond' earrings this year.
Not all pieces will require these earrings and this will be noted on the parent portal.
First pair will be provided by the studio.
Clip on and pierced options available.
If forgotten on the day of the peformance, a new pair will be available for $10, charged to your account.
Practicing is important!
For show music see your ITD parent portal under Info > Documents & Files > Class Music.
Videos are in the same area under class files tab.
Please ensure you are noting the call times for shows and bringing your dancers on time.
Please drop your dancers off and ensure they make into the facility.
Competitions can run ahead or behind, so check the TeamSnap app regularly.
If you choose to stay and watch at Senior home performances - we ask you stay at the back and leave seating and best views for residents and guests.
We also ask that parents refrain from going backstage at any shows, unless they are the designated volunteer. Space is often tight and there is a lot of activity to get ready for the show.
