The Hundred Series, initiated in 2010, consists of 100 individual ten-inch by ten-inch wood panels. Each panel is crafted by collaging dress pattern paper onto the wood and subsequently applying red watercolor to highlight specific geometries discovered during the collage process. Additionally, some panels feature hand-painted elements using ink.
Following the creation phase, each painting is titled and the title is encoded in binary across the panel using wood block printing. When exhibited together, the 100 panels are arranged on the gallery wall in a grid format based on their visual appeal rather than the coherence of the titles.
Upon installation of all 100 panels, the binary-coded titles are decoded, and the translated titles are displayed adjacent to the complete artwork. This process allows viewers to appreciate both the visual composition and the conceptual framework of the series. When individual panels are sold, a new panel is created in order to keep one hundred together at all times.
