Privacy Policy

Damage (the app) is made by Steppe Summit Studio. This policy explains how the app handles your information. The short version: your data stays on your device. There is no account, no analytics, and no tracking, and we never sell your data.
1. WHAT WE COLLECT
We collect nothing. Steppe Summit Studio operates no servers for this app and has no access to your data. There is no account or sign up.
2. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Your meals, restaurants, budgets, ratings, notes, photos, and generated reports are stored only on your device using Apple's on-device database. This information is never uploaded to us. If you delete the app, that data is removed unless you exported a backup yourself.
3. WHAT LEAVES YOUR DEVICE
The app's optional AI features (the monthly Damage Report, Ask Claude, the Gut Check verdict, and the mid-month check-in) send a text-only summary of the relevant meals, such as date, restaurant name, amount, category, occasion, worth-it rating, and any note, to Anthropic, PBC to generate the response using the Claude API. Your photos are never sent. Nothing is sent unless you choose to generate a report or ask a question. 4. PURCHASES
Subscriptions and the one-time Lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details. Purchase status is read on your device through Apple's StoreKit. Manage or cancel subscriptions anytime in your Apple ID settings.
5. NO TRACKING, NO ADS, NO SELLING
The app contains no advertising and no third-party trackers or analytics. We do not profile you and we do not sell or share your data with anyone.
6. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Because your data lives only on your device, you are always in control. You can export a backup or a spreadsheet, restore from a backup, or erase all data permanently from Settings.
7. SECURITY
You can lock the app behind Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode in Settings.
8. CHILDREN
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the latest version.
