FAQs
We ask participants wear non-marking basketball and volleyball-specific shoes. However, most clean, spike-less athletic shoes - ones that don't leave black marks - you did not wear into the facility should be sufficient.
Please make sure to wipe off your shoes in the lobby and make sure there is no gravel or dirt stuck in the sole of the shoe before stepping onto the court; this keeps our floor from getting scratched and worn out.
Spectators are not allowed on the sport courts. If you are not a participant, please stay on the black rubber mats or in the lobby when spectating or waiting before or after pick-up/drop-off.
Water is allowed, but all other food and drink must be consumed in the lobby (this includes sports drinks and coffee/specialty drinks).
Keeping other food and drink in the lobby significantly reduces the amount of crumbs, spills, and sticky spots that have to be cleaned in the gym.
We currently accept payments via cash, check, or Venmo. The simplest forms of payment are cash or check. We also have a Venmo Business account, which includes a slight processing fee.
We are still working on finalizing other payment methods for the facility. Check back here for updates, or feel free to reach out as we finalize payment options moving forward!
The Dalzell Athletic Center is part of a larger private property, which includes a residence and another athletic facility. You are not allowed to wander around outside of the facility or use the space like a park/courtyard area.
Please respect our other tenants, our neighbors and their animals, their property, and their privacy when on the premises.
No, unless they are part of a reserved time and the organizer for that time is present (coach, trainer, group leader), the individual should not be dropped off and left at the facility.
The Dalzell Athletic Center is not open to walk-ups or the general public; a scheduled time must be made before coming to the facility.
No children may be left without a responsible adult on site.
You only have permission to use the court space you rented time for. There are other factors besides the fact that the floor is currently empty:
Extra use on the court floor, especially in improper footwear, adds to wear & tear.
You do not know the gym schedule and if the court is about to be used, cleaned, or is vacant for another reason.
It is a liability to have children and other individuals running around the facility who are not part of a scheduled reservation.
Spectators should not be on the sport courts regardless.
If you would like to use that court space, you are welcome to schedule that time with us and pay for the appropriate reservation.
Please reach out and let the appropriate group organizer know (coach, trainer, youth leader, etc.).
Individuals are welcome to stay in the lobby while they are waiting to be picked up. A responsible adult for the group must stay on site until all children for their group are picked up from the facility.
Yes, please refer to the Gym Guidelines that can be found on the home page of this website and are posted in a few places around the facility.
These guidelines are in place to ensure a clean, safe, and family-friendly environment.
You're welcome to reach out to us if you'd like to talk about any of the Gym Guidelines.
Please let us know if someone is not following the guidelines we have in place at the Dalzell Athletic Center. A staff member will follow up and address the individual or group about the issue directly.
If they are warned about the issue and are not willing/refuse to follow all of the Gym Guidelines, they may be asked to leave the premises, without refund, and risk being suspended or banned from the facility if deemed necessary by staff.
If you have any other questions, please reach out and let us know! We'll look to get back to you promptly.
