WHAT TO SEE: Dalle Nonne al Mare is located in Ladispoli, in the province of Rome. Ladispoli is a charming seaside tourist town overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, with a rich cultural, historical, and archaeological past, partially preserved. A few minutes from us, you can visit the remains of the Roman Villa de La Grottaccia, or the remains of the splendid Roman maritime Villa di Pompeo, the remains of the thermal baths and the funerary monument of Palo Laziale, the Castellaccio dei Monteroni, the enchanting Odescalchi Castle and the Villa de La Posta Vecchia in Palo Laziale, or the WWF Natural Oasis. In April, the renowned Romanesco Artichoke Festival is the town's flagship event and is known worldwide. Various cultural events and festivals are also offered during the summer. Dalle Nonne al Mare is located very close (less than 30 meters) to the black, iron-rich beach known throughout Italy. To find the golden beach, just head to Torre Flavia, named after the homonymous defensive tower, a 5-minute bike ride along the cycle path that connects the entire city. In the same area, you can visit the "Palude di Torre Flavia" Natural Monument located between Ladispoli and Cerveteri. Also accessible by bicycle along the cycle path (about 15 minutes), is the beach of Marina di San Nicola, the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea. About a 10-minute drive away, you can reach the famous Banditaccia Necropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in the nearby and famous Etruscan city of Cerveteri. The splendid Castle of Santa Severa can be reached in 15 minutes by car, and after another 5 minutes, you will reach nearby Santa Marinella (only 12 minutes by faster train). The center of the port city of Civitavecchia is just a 26-minute drive and an 18-minute train ride away. The city of Bracciano, with the lake overlooking the famous Odescalchi Castle where Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes got married, is about a 25-minute drive away. Continuing for another 5 minutes, you will find yourself in the vast woodland area (580 hectares) of the Macchia Grande forest in Manziana.
