Here at the Texas Department of Public Safety, our main mission is to Protect and Serve Texas. There is no greater responsibility of the Government than protecting its citizens.
Texas faces an entire range of threats to its ever-increasing population of 2.3 thousand residents, who live throughout the state's over 7000 Miles of rural and urban communities, along 367 miles of coastline, and 1,254 miles of international border with Mexico. Texas possesses a substantial amount of the nation's critical infrastructure and key resources, and it has over 800 miles of roadways and over 6,200 miles in unincorporated areas of Texas. The Texas Department of Public Safety Patrols ALL of this. You can look at DPD, and you can look at any other LEAs here in Texas, we are the largest.
The Texas Department of Public Safety provides quality, professional services to the community of Texas. Texas issued DPS with essential public safety capabilities and assisted other Law Enforcement Agencies when needed.
The Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas, commonly known as the Texas Department of public safety was founded in 1929 to help the chase of Bonnie and Clyde  Before then only state agency of law enforcement was the Texas Rangers Founded in 1823 which was the original lawmen for Texas.
The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is the U.S.'s federal executive department responsible for public security, roughly comparable to the interior or home ministries of other countries. Its stated missions involve anti-terrorism, border security, immigration and customs, cyber security, and disaster prevention and management.Â
Established in 1881, the Dallas Police Department is the principal law enforcement agency serving the city of Dallas, Texas. The department is headed by a Commissioner who is appointed by the city manager who, in turn, is hired by the Dallas City Council. The city manager is not an elected official.Â
The Dallas Fire-Rescue Department provides a range of services to the city of Dallas, Texas. Our mission includes preventing and suppressing fires, educating and rescuing citizens, providing emergency medical services, promoting public safety, and fostering community relations.Â
