Dallas County Fire & Rescue serves the citizens of the unincorporated area of Dallas County. This area encompasses approximately 35 square miles on the South East part of the county. The department is housed in Old Dallas Station 9, which was built in 1951 for the Kleberg volunteer Fire Dept. It is a 2 bay brick building with living quarters and is staffed most of the time with DCFR Volunteers.
DCFR is under the direction of the Dallas County Fire Marshal and Chief Robert De Los Santos. The dept. membership is made up of approximately 20 active members. The department was formed in 1983 by Retired Fire Marshal Jim Badgett to serve the unincorporated areas of the county. They started out in a mobile home which was later replaced with a tin barn that members built. In 1991 DCFR moved into the current location when DFD moved out.

Search for missing persons
Mutual Aid for other depts.
Standby for H H W Events

EMS Standby at Special Events
Natural Disaster response
Severe weather standby
