About Professor Dakshitha Wickramasinghe

Professor Dakshitha Wickramasinghe graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2009 with 5 distinctions and 7 medals including the medal for the best student of the graduating batch. 

He underwent surgical training first in Sri Lanka at several teaching hospitals and subsequently at St. Mark's Hospital, London, UK where he specialised in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. 

Professor Wickramasinghe's research interest include general and coloretal surgery, minimal access surgery, pelvic floor dysfunction and medical education.

He is presently working as an Honourary Consultant Surgeon at the University Surgical Unit of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka and a Professor in Surgery at the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo.
