DAKOTA SUMMER

Through the medium of film, I find methods of obtaining and communicating truths of life that might otherwise be overlooked. To me, art has always been the ultimate expression of truth and passion. My ecstatic dedication to creating art that expresses authenticity, humanity, and love propels me in exciting (and often unexpected) directions each day. 

I am an independent filmmaker and multi-media creator based out of the Cincinnati, Ohio area. I currently have a primary interest in narrative directing and cinematography, however, I offer freelance video production services for a wide variety of clients, including musicians and local businesses. 

As I mentioned earlier, authenticity is the key for me. More often than not, the major productions of our time are bland digital wastelands, systemized to appeal to all, and effectively saying something of nuance to none. I will join the effort to push the film medium to its unbound heights, and I hope to collaborate with creators who prioritize artistic integrity over marketability.

Outside of filmmaking, I spend much of my time enjoying philosophical and classic literature. I also have a great passion for making and listening to music, having grown up on The Beatles and learning guitar, drum kit, and viola at a young age. 

Exploring the world is perhaps the most exciting aspect of my personal life. I've had the great pleasure of solo backpacking Europe at the age of 18 for a month, as well as traveling across the United States to visit National Parks. I feel more at home on a train in the middle of nowhere than I do in my own bed.
