Daily Khata (also referred to as the "App") is a ledger and expense management application developed to help users track cash flows and expenses efficiently. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

1. Information We Collect

Our application respects your privacy and only collects information strictly necessary for the core functionality of the App.

A. Personal Data

When an Admin registers an account, we collect the following information:

Email Address: Used for account creation, authentication, and password recovery.

Name & Khata Name: Used to personalize your ledger experience.

Phone Number: Optional information provided voluntarily by the admin for record-keeping.

When an Admin creates a profile for a Person (User/Customer/Employee), the following information is generated/stored:

Name: To identify the ledger account.

6-Digit Unique ID: A system-generated ID that allows the Person to log in and view their ledger.

B. Usage Data and App Activity

Transaction Data: Financial records (Cash Given, Expenses, Date, and Time) entered by the Admin are securely stored to generate ledger histories and PDF reports.

Device Preferences: We store local application preferences, such as your selected language (English, Urdu, or Roman Urdu), locally on your device using Shared Preferences.

2. Permissions We Request

To provide a seamless experience, our App requires the following device permissions. We do not request access to your Camera, Contacts, Location, or Microphone.

Internet Access (android.permission.INTERNET): Required to sync your data securely with our cloud database (Firebase) so you can access your ledger across multiple devices.

Network State: Required to detect offline/online status to provide offline-first capabilities and seamless data syncing.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

To Provide Core Services: To create and manage your account, store your transaction history, and generate PDF invoices.

To Authenticate Users: To securely log Admins in via email/password and allow Persons to view their specific ledgers using their 6-digit Unique IDs.

To Improve User Experience: To remember your language selection and local app preferences.

To Maintain Security: To protect against unauthorized access and maintain the integrity of your financial data.

4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. The App uses trusted third-party services solely to facilitate our core infrastructure:

Google Firebase (Authentication & Cloud Firestore): We use Firebase to securely authenticate users and store application data (transactions, profiles). Firebase encrypts data in transit and at rest. Read Google's Privacy Policy.

External Applications: Our App allows you to generate PDF invoices and share them via your device's native sharing capabilities (e.g., WhatsApp, Email). We do not collect or monitor data shared through these external channels.

5. Data Security

The security of your personal data is important to us. We implement commercially reasonable security measures, including Google Firebase's robust infrastructure, to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Data Retention: We retain your account and ledger data for as long as your account is active.

Data Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. Admins can permanently delete Person profiles and associated transactions directly within the App. If you wish to delete your entire Admin account and all associated data, please contact us at our support email (provided below), and we will promptly remove your data from our servers.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions to remove that information.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
