Daily Attendance — Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 26, 2026
Daily Attendance is built on one simple principle: your data belongs to you, and only you. This app is developed and maintained by Prathamesh Vanjare. This policy explains, in plain language, how your information is handled.
YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE BY DEFAULT
Every subject you create, every day you mark, and every salary detail you enter is stored in a private, secure database directly on your phone. The app works fully offline for all core attendance tracking. We do not run any servers, and we have no way of seeing your attendance records unless you choose to enable optional Google Drive backup, described below.
OPTIONAL: GOOGLE SIGN-IN & GOOGLE DRIVE BACKUP
Daily Attendance offers an optional feature that lets you back up your attendance data to your own Google Drive account, so you can restore it if you switch phones or reinstall the app. This feature is entirely optional — the app works fully without it.
If you choose to use it:
- You sign in with your Google account using Google's standard sign-in process.
- We receive your email address and basic Google account ID to identify your session — nothing else from your Google account is accessed.
- Your attendance data is uploaded to a private, hidden folder in your own Google Drive (Google's "Application Data" folder) that only this app can read. It is not visible in your regular Drive files, and it is not visible to us, to Google for any purpose other than storage, or to any other third party.
- This data is used solely to back up and restore your attendance records. It is never sold, shared, or used for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than the backup feature itself.
- All communication with Google's servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
You can turn this feature on or off at any time from the app's Backup & Restore screen.
PERMISSIONS WE USE, AND WHY
We ask for a few permissions, and each one exists purely to make the app work well:
- Internet — required only if you enable Google sign-in and Drive backup. No internet connection is needed for any other feature.
- Notifications — to remind you to mark today's attendance.
- Exact Alarms — so your reminder actually fires at the exact time you chose, even if the app isn't open.
- Ignore Battery Optimizations — so your phone's battery-saving features don't silently cancel your reminders.
- Restart Detection (Boot Completed) — to bring your reminders back automatically after you restart your phone.
- Vibration — for the notification alert itself.
None of these permissions give us access to your personal information beyond what's described above for the optional backup feature.
EXPORTING AND SHARING YOUR OWN DATA
You can export your attendance history as a PDF or Excel file, or create a local backup file, whenever you want. These files are created on your device and stay on your device — they're only shared if you personally choose to send them (for example, through email or WhatsApp) using your phone's own share option. We never receive a copy.
DELETING YOUR DATA
You're always in control of your data:
- To stop cloud backup: open the app, go to Settings > Backup & Restore, and tap "Sign out of Google." This disconnects the app from your Google account and stops any further backups.
- To permanently delete your backed-up data from Google Drive: visit myaccount.google.com/permissions, find this app in your list of connected apps, and remove its access. Google automatically deletes the app's private backup folder when access is revoked.
- To delete all data stored locally on your device: simply uninstall the app. All local attendance records are removed with it.
- For any other request related to your data, contact us at the email below and we'll assist you.
NO TRACKING, NO ADVERTISING
Daily Attendance contains no analytics SDKs, no ad networks, and does not share data with third parties for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the optional backup feature described above.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The app's core functionality collects no personal data from any user, including children. The optional Google sign-in feature relies on Google's own account and age-eligibility policies; we do not independently collect or process children's personal data.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If anything about how the app works ever changes, this page will be updated accordingly, along with a new "Last updated" date.
