Davide D'Angelo (PhD student)

I graduated in Plant, Environmental and Food Biotechnologies at the University of Naples Federico II with full marks. At present, I’m a PhD student in Computational and Quantitative Biology working on "Multi-omics profiling of tanscriptomic and epigenetic signatures in Parkinson’s Disease: unravelling lncRNA patterns as potential biomarkers".  My PhD project is in collaboration with prof. Alfonso De Simone , Department of Pharmacy, University of Naples Federico II.

XXXIX cycle, AY 2023/2024

Ivan Fruggiero (Research fellow)

I hold a degree in Plant, Environmental, and Food Biotechnologies from the University of Naples Federico II. Currently, I serve as a Research Fellow contributing to the KASTRACK project. My research project focuses on the development and implementation of a specialized database to record the genetic fingerprints of various chestnut cultivars.

Alessandro Maisto (Research fellow)

I graduated in Plant, Environmental, and Food Biotechnologies from the University of Naples Federico II. Currently, I am a research fellow involved in the KASTRACK project, where I focus on the traceability of chestnut cultivars using KASP technology for genetic fingerprinting. My research primarily involves designing and implementing a database to catalog the genetic fingerprints of various chestnut cultivars.

Amalia Chiariello (Master student)

I am a biotechnology student at the University of Naples Federico II.

For my thesis I am working on the genetic diversity analysis of an olive germplasm collection.

Marco Porcelli (Master student)

I am a biotechnology student at the University of Naples Federico II.

I have completed my bachelor's degree in "Agricultural, Forestry and Environmental Sciences" at the University of Naples Federico II.

My master's thesis project entitled "Selection of potato genotypes tolerant to stress and with better qualitative characteristics" is carried out at the Institute of Biosciences and Bioresources of the Italian National Research Council under the supervision of Dr. Nunzia Scotti. The main goal of this work is the genotypic and phenotypic evaluation of different potato accessions subjected to abiotic stress.

Federica Palmaccio (Master student)

I am a biotechnology student at the University of Naples Federico II.

I have completed my bachelor's degree in " Biotechnology for Health" at the University of Naples Federico II.

My master's thesis project entitled "Production of sweet proteins in transplastomic tobacco plants" is carried out at the Institute of Biosciences and Bioresources of the Italian National Research Council under the supervision of Dr. Nunzia Scotti. The main goal of this work is the use of tobacco chloroplasts as a stable plant expression platform to produce sweet proteins for potential applications in the pharmaceutical and food industries.

Francesca Bencivenga (Master student)

I am a biotechnology student at the University of Naples Federico II. My master's thesis project is entitled "Study of the nucleotide variability of Olea europaea L. plastomes." The main goal of this work is the investigate chloroplast variation and genetic evolution of olive trees from Jordan.
