A Valuable lesson in Life- Commitment
After Cortez had disembarked his 500 conquistadors on the coast of Mexico, he set fire to all the ships! His soldiers knew there was no going back for them- they were committed with their lives to the conquest of the ”New World” for Spain. All doubt had been removed from their minds.
It is with this very story in our minds that we came to Australia in 1997, to start a new home and a new way of life. There was to be no looking back and only one way to go- forward. So it should be in so many situations in life. Be totally committed to the task in hand.
Every little bit of effort makes a difference-don’t give up despite the odds
There is a story of a man walking down the beach where thousands of starfish had been washed up. As he walked along he was throwing one starfish back at a time. Someone came up to him and said “This beach goes on for hundreds of miles. In an hour the sun will be out and will kill all this millions of starfish washed up by this unusual tide. You can’t possibly save enough to make it worth it, it won’t make a difference at all!”
But the fellow just kept on and as he picked one up and threw and threw it back into the water he said “well my efforts sure made a difference to that one!”
