📍Boxpark Camden + Shoreditch + Liverpool
As a Graphic Designer at Yoki Social Table, I was commissioned to design a series of storefront panels for new locations in Boxpark Camden, Shoreditch and Liverpool. I approached the project by translating Yoki’s core mission, bringing authentic Korean soul food to the UK, into a vibrant visual identity. Drawing inspiration from the South Korean flag, I crafted a bold, meaningful colour palette that connects cultural roots with contemporary appeal.
I based my storefront designs on the form and visual language of a traditional Korean hanok, incorporating curving roof tiles and patterned window panels to create an eye-catching, culturally grounded identity. This approach not only makes the storefront stand out in busy environments such as Boxpark venues, but also signals authenticity, offering passersby an immediate sense of stepping into a uniquely Korean experience, something fresh and exciting.
While we wanted to maintain a consistent design language across all Yoki locations, each site came with unique conditions that required thoughtful adjustments. Factors like storefront dimensions, the number and arrangement of panels and visibility from different approaches meant I had to carefully tailor the designs to ensure they performed effectively in each setting.
This process allowed me to strengthen key skills such as adaptability, spatial awareness, problem-solving, and attention to detail. I also deepened my understanding of visual marketing, learning how to optimise design impact within real-world constraints and enhance customer engagement by making sure each site was both visually striking and functionally suited to its surroundings.
