RF communications should be encrypted and/or authenticated to prevent attacks, and a possibility for frequency-hopping should be explored to avoid incidental or deliberate interference.
Changes that may occur during lifetime:
Battery degradation:
Battery circuit should be within safe voltage/current regulation circuit, with precautionary shut-down available.
Overheating:
Temperature sensors should monitor for overheating and shut-down before hazardous temperatures can be reached. Good ventilation should be implemented in design.
Disposal after lifetime:
Correct disposal/recycling instructions should be included with package, including clearly visible warnings. A potential take-back program should be considered to accept products back.
