About the HJ Andrews Experimental Forest

Weather, Lodging, and Food at the HJ Andrews
The HJ. Andrews Experimental Forest is located at approximately 1,400 feet in the Western Cascades of Oregon. Oregon forest are gorgeous all year long, just a little colder and very wet during winter. To be comfortable outside during field trips and breaks, we encourage you to bring rain jackets, water proof/resistant shoes or boots with good traction to hike in muddy environment, and wool or synthetic clothes that will stay warm if you get wet. Current weather conditions for Blue River, the nearest town to HJ Andrews, can be found here.
All meals will be catered with no additional costs to attendees. We will also provide snacks that you will have access to throughout the day. We will do our best to accommodate a wide range of dietary preferences and restrictions. However, kitchen space will be available for cooking if you are interested in making your own food at any point. If you have dietary needs that are not met by the options outlined in the poll, please contact us such that we can ensure we are able to accommodate your dietary needs.
Lodging at the HJ Andrews is made up of shared apartment spaces (photo below). You will be in a single or shared room (depending on your specified preference). More information on lodging can be found here.
