Contributions During WW1
During WW1 many people volunteered to fight in the war. Others decided to contribute in different ways such as: sending food, military supplies, becoming a nurse and helping the government to pay for the war.
About Cyril Francis Sargent
Cyril Francis was born in Arnprior, Ontario, Canada on January, 24, 1883. He had a sibling, Joseph Sargent. There is no image of him, but according to the description of his enlistment he was 6'0, dark hair, brown eyes, dark complexion and was a Roman Catholic.
During the Great War, Britain was in need of resources and Canada could provide them. Canada was booming in population with immigrants, and many people who could not participate in the war, took other jobs in Canada to help support the war.
This medal was awarded to the foresty units that contributed resources to the allied efforts.
