Cacao Ceremonies originated in the Mayan and Aztec traditions in Central and South America for thousands of years.
The Cacao is honored as a plant deva, which offers spiritual and healing properties, for those on the path of inner awakening and healing. Not to be confused with the hot chocolate we may drink on a daily basis. It is scientifically proven that when used in a sacred ceremony, raw Cacao has a very different effect.
It is well known as an heart opening remedy for seekers who are looking for a safe awakening, revealing and healing experience. It supports us to release blocking emotions and to reconnect with our essence, the loving and joyful energy within ourselves.

Cacao has been used for centuries to heal the mental, physical and spiritual body
Cacao used in a cacao ceremony is different from regular chocolate we eat. It might be a bit shocking, but it doesn’t taste anything like hot chocolate. The cacao beans are what goes into the chocolate we are familiar with – but usually only 20-30%. Ritual cacao is made out of 100% ground cacao beans which are naturally high in iron, magnesium and B-complex vitamins.
Cacao ceremonies are one of the oldest holistic healing practices used by indigenous cultures all over the world.
Beside the Cacao, which is revered as medicine, another important aspect is the sitting in a circle and holding a safe and sacred space.
How much the Cacao will impact our experience, depends on with how much awareness and respect we approach the Cacao.
However, unlike other shamanic experiences, drinking cacao will not make you hallucinate or give you some sort of ‘out-of-body’ psychedelic experience.
Cacao instead, is used to gently touch your heart and to guide you on an inner journey deep into the emotional center of our body – our heart.
