Alireza Bahmanyar was born in Bojnord, Iran, in 1986. He earned an M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Guilan University, Rasht, Iran, in 2011, followed by a Ph.D. degree from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), Tehran, Iran, in 2017. Between 2018 and 2020, he worked at Niroo Research Institute, while also holding a Postdoctoral fellowship at IUST. From 2020 to 2023, he served as a postdoctoral research assistant at the University of Liège, focusing on modern distribution network planning and operation, as well as power system stability and control. Currently, he holds the position of Lead Electric Power Systems Expert at Haulogy in Belgium.
Daiga Dege is a cybersecurity expert with an extensive experience in policy, strategy, and stakeholder engagement at the European level. As an IT Security & Policy Senior Specialist at ENTSO-E, she has greatly contributed to initiatives on cybersecurity regulations, risk assessments, and information sharing. With a background in academia and international security, Daiga has lectured at various academic institutions, covering topics such as cybersecurity, global governance, and security policy. She has also contributed to major cybersecurity frameworks, including the first Network Code on Cybersecurity under the NIS 2 Directive. She strives to enhance cyber-resilience in the pan-European arena and foster overall collaboration ensuring that cybersecurity becomes a “second language” to key policies, strategies, and discussions with the key stakeholders in Europe.
Amirreza Jafari Anarjan holds a Bachelor’s and master's degree in Power Systems from the University of Tabriz, Iran, and he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at KU Leuven, focusing on the cybersecurity of power systems. He is actively involved in the CYPRESS project, with a primary research focus on cybersecurity risk assessment in power systems and day-ahead cybersecurity enhancement planning. His broader expertise includes power system planning and optimization, reliability and resilience assessment, anomaly detection, and the application of AI in smart power systems.
Shahabeddin Kamyab holds a MSc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Shiraz University and a MSc. in Electrical Engineering from the Shahid Beheshti University in Iran. He also hols a PhD. from the Shiraz University in Mechanical Engineering, Reactor Division, Nuclear Engineering. He is now a postdoctoral researcher in the BEAMS lab at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Benjamin Krikler is a physicist and technologist turned social entrepreneur. He is the founding Director of Energised Futures – a new in-house research and innovation incubator created to accelerate a new energy future and deliver on Centrica’s purpose to energise a greener, fairer future for all. Ben completed his PhD at Imperial College London, working on the COMET experiment in Japan, and later conducted postdoctoral research at CERN with the University of Bristol, where he focused on searching for dark matter through the LHC's CMS experiment and the LZ experiment in the US. While at CERN, he organized THE Port humanitarian hackathon, leveraging the CERN community to foster innovation amongst Geneva-based NGOs. Krikler then spent three years as co-founder and CEO of RemotelyGreen, a platform to make online events a truly sociable alternative to travel. In late 2022, he joined Centrica as lead data scientist in the DSR team, leading the team's research activities from August 2023. Ben is a fellow of the UK’s Software Sustainability Institute.
Frédéric OLIVIER holds a PhD in electrical engineering, completed in 2018 at the University of Liège, on the integration of photovoltaic panels into unbalanced low-voltage a PhD in electrical engineering, completed in 2018 at the University of Liège, on the integration of photovoltaic panels into unbalanced low-voltage distribution networks. Since 2019, he has been working at Sibelga, the Distribution System Operator of the Brussels Region. He is currently Manager of Primary Substations, responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of substations in Brussels.
Ludovic Rigaux holds degrees in aeronautical engineering and bioengineering from the Free University of Brussels. After his masters, he did academic research and published in the field of risks associated with the import of goods into the European Union. He then embarked on a career in the transport sector, carrying out various engineering assignments for railway companies and Toyota Motor Europe, specializing in electric motors and battery systems. In 2020, he joined the Belgian federal authority in charge of energy security as Energy Security Officer. His missions include cyber-physical security inspections of critical sites and operators, sectoral risk analyses, the development of recommendations and expertise in strengthening energy resilience in Belgium and in collaboration with European Union and NATO.
Frédéric Sabot is a power system engineer working in the Consulting department at Haulogy since 2025. He is currently working on the implementation of a cyber-physical simulator for the French transmission system operator in the context of the TwinEU project. Frédéric holds a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the Université libre de Bruxelles, Belgium on the topic of probabilistic security assessment of power systems.
Loïc Tilman leads IT Operations and Innovation at Elia, Belgium's Transmission System Operator, where he oversees critical cybersecurity activities. For the past 7 years, he has driven innovation initiatives across Elia and 50Hertz. His prior experience includes global client advisory at McKinsey & Company and energy trading at Luminus. Loïc holds a Master in Electromechanical Engineering from Liège University and a Master in Management from Louvain School of Management.
Annemie M.P. VERMEYLEN is currently the Founder & Managing Director of Heathcliff and a Strategic Adviser at Ørsted. She is passionate about transforming the ocean’s resources into clean and safe energy. Her expertise includes International Law of the Sea, Offshore wind energy project management, Marine Spatial Planning, Renewable energy policy, Public affairs, Regulatory management, and Government, authorities, and stakeholder management. Throughout her career, Ms. Vermeylen has held significant roles such as Secretary General of the Belgian Offshore Platform vzw (2011-2014; 2016-2023), where she advocated for the development of offshore wind energy in the Belgian North Sea. She has also served as Regulatory Manager at Rentel (Otary RS) NV (2015-2016), Authority & Regulatory Manager at C-Power NV (2008-2014), and Project Manager & Regulatory Consultant at DEME NV (2008-2014). Her experience extends to the public sector, where she was a Deputy Mayor, President Local Council, and Member Local Council for the Municipality of Watermaal-Bosvoorde/Brussels (2000-2014). She also served as an Adviser to federal & regional governments (1999-2007) and as a Non-executive Board member at Haven van Brussel-Port de Bruxelles (2011-2014) and Sibelga (DSO) (2001-2006)
