With Rayhan rescued from peril and the One Source Merchants’ Guild and its notorious leader out of commission, the situation facing the PCs becomes much safer. They may be concerned about the strange meeting with the Captain of the Sunset Ship or curious about the strange gift he presented to them, but as far as Katapesh is concerned, they are still the keepers of a valuable artifact, and rumors now fly as to how much the Scroll of Kakishon might be going for, and who might be rich enough to afford such a treasure. Yet rumors of how the PCs handled the One Source spread as well, and as a result, the merchants give the PCs a greater modicum of respect. They can wait for the obviously dangerous PCs to make their decision on who they wish to sell to, and as a result the PCs are no longer harassed by groups trying to convince them to sell.
Kardswann: Since his freedom from Xolthus, he has been wandering the world trying to find his way. Though still lost, the wind has guided him to Pazhvann and Davashuum who still follow Nefishti. He shared with them his experiences, his disgrace, and his rescue by those now known as the Knight Protectors of Kelmerane. He shared that one of them is connected to the spirit of Vardishal and wields Blizzard. While Pazhvann tried to his his old friend at ease, Kardswann still feels unworthy and is continuing his wandering.
Pazhvann: Hearing of the Knight Protectors and of his old friend guiding them he knew he needed to get a closer look. He has realized that time was catching up and things where in motion that required the Templar of the Five Winds to return.
Davashuum: While still following Nefishti he is concerned of her inaction since her lover and brother died in their battle with Jhavhul. After hearing Kardswann's tale he believes events are in motion that if they do not do anything they will be swept away like leaves in the wind.
Zayidid: After the map slipped from his hands, he is focused on getting it back. Using illusions and disguise as Rakava, he has led a group of Gnolls to Katapesh to take the map back. Using this underworld contact, he knows where they are staying and of Pazhvann's meeting. He is planning to kill 3 bird with one stone by killing both the the Knights, Pazhvann and taking the map.
A few days after the events with the One Source Merchants' Guild you get a letter delivered to Rayhan's home. It is an invitation to meet with Pazhvann, one of the Templars of the Wind.
Greetings Windspeaker,
I hope this letter finds you well. While I have knowledge of you, I assume that you have little knowledge of the spirit that speaks to you, the weapon you've been blessed with, or the map that everyone seems to want.
Please join me at the Cliffside Tavern for dinner tomorrow. I wish to impart what knowledge I have of the events swirling around you.
I hope you accept my invitation so that I may provide some context and guidance.
Brother in the Wind,
Pazhvann
Cliffside Tavern: Perched at the edge of the cliffs overlooking the Inner Sea, the Cliffside Tavern is a popular place for locals looking for a quiet place to eat and enjoy a drink with a pleasing view of the sea. It is also a romantic spot for couples and lovers, who usually rendezvous here in the evening and late at night. Cliffside isn’t always so seren; it isn’t uncommon for cheating lovers to get caught in the act and be beaten or killed in a murderous rage.
The owner and barkeep is Azhmeer Murlawden (NG male human bard 1/expert 2), and he regularly treats his customers to soft music, strumming on his dulcimer while he wordlessly hums along.
You walk to the Cliffside Tavern, a place you have frequently enjoyed in the last couple weeks since you've arrived in Katapesh. As you enter the establishment, you noticed Azhmeer's playing the dulcimer and humming along is missing. You then see that the tavern is empty except for one man sitting at a small table by the window with the view of the Obari ocean. You see him sipping from a small glass bottle filled with a rich red liquid. He puts the glass down and stands to face you.
In stories Pazhvann is described as a Jann from Vudra. He has dark blue skin, a bald head, and his body is covered in arcane tattoos. He is usually described as wearing a long coat and turbin.
