This is a set of exercises on the analysis of X-ray data from the Cygnus X-3. The aim of the exercise is to see how scientific analysis of data is done and to introduce the students to python using jupyter notebooks.
The talk is here The data analysis is best done via a jupyter notebook running on google's computers . There is an explanation of how to do this in the talk. The jupyter notebook is on google collab.
If you don't have a google account, you can access the jupyter notebook There is a jupyter-notebook tab on the programs menu under anaconda. You need to click on that -- this will bring up a web page and then you need to find the location of the jupyter notebook.

I have created an example which shows some of the basic features of the panda module. You can get to it from google collab. or download it to your local computer.
