A book series in the world of Terralum
In Terralum, everyone has a spark, which represents their purpose in life. (And gives them a cool unique ability.) However, there's someone stealing sparks and killing their hosts. Follow this series to see if he ever will be stopped!
Here are the eight main projects, but there will be side projects also! (Not all of them are technically books!)
Malakoi doesn't have a spark, but he can see them in other people. This unique ability makes him perfect for tracking down whoever is responsible for taking other people's sparks. Teaming up with Roluma and Silena, two loose-cannon powerhouses, will he be able to keep up without a spark of his own?
Follow the story of Kulianna, daughter of the most powerful man in the world, as her loyalties are tested and she struggles to find the right thing to do. This book contains four stories from her childhood, and each work to explain how she came to where she is in the events of Without a Spark.
Set in a sci-fi future, follow Nithril's journey through a war across the stars. Officially, he's loyal to the evil Emperor. Will he be able to complete his plans before his true intentions are revealed?
A choose-your-own-adventure book following alternate timelines of the life of Gid, a warrior of Gensair who ethnically belongs to their enemy. Where will his conflicted loyalty lead him?
A legacy board game where you live in the world of Terralum! In the aftermath of a horrible world war, the planet has been flooded with radioactive water, and all are ruled by those with the best ships. Follow Captain Verdis into battle and prove that you're the best pirates in the Poisoned Sea!
Caedal has never known friends or family. He has always been alone, taking care of himself, whether on the streets or out in the Sahra desert. But now, for the first time, he doesn't have to. A man named Ricordan has taken him in and calls him brother. But this brother is directly involved in the events of the civil war. Was Caedal better off when he was alone?
Kulmei is the son of a war hero. Everyone always talks about it. They praise him for it like he had something to do with it. All he knows is he's been alone since he was twelve. He never asked for any of this, but his father's past catches up with him and he's forced to fight for his life... and release the terrible power he had promised his father he'd keep hidden.
How will all of these stories tie together? What will become of these bright sparks? Will there finally be a happy ending?
Here are some other projects I have planned!
Here's where YOU can participate! Do you have an idea for a character in my world, or an idea for how one of my characters may continue their journey? Write a short story, or even just a character bio, and send it my way to be included in my anthology!

My first book, Without a Spark, has messages for the American Church. So as I work on translating this story into Spanish, I want to change a few things to make the message more applicable to the Mexican Church. So it won't be a direct translation! If you're bilingual and enjoyed Without a Spark, you'll be very interested in the Spanish version!
Since I work with children, I do want to write a children's story. More than that, I want to have characters representing the real children that I work with. I have some ideas brewing, but not many details I'm solid on. The one thing I know for sure is that it will be an adventure that highlights the struggles of communication disabilities!
A poetry book mainly focused on honoring the lost, especially to suicide. I'll use Caligo's victims as metaphors for real people who have lost that fight. Most importantly, this project will honor my late sister, who died at fifteen years old.
Michael Krantz is not only a writer. Born in Washington but called to Mexico, his life has been a journey of figuring out his spark, his calling. After graduating high school in 2011, he went to Mazatlán, Mexico, on a mission trip that changed his life. He fell in love with Mexico’s culture (and food!) and spent the next several years looking for opportunities to return. It took a while, but he found it.
God has led him to an opportunity to work with children in an organization called Camp Amos, a safehouse for any who need it, especially children separated from their families. Many of the children who come are disabled, and many are traumatized, and Camp Amos provides a space for them to heal and learn at their own pace.
Camp Amos is a non-profit, support-based organization in Chiapas, Mexico, and writing this book (along with more books to come) is a step in funding this mission. If you’d like to know more, go to campamos.org. You can also email moacir.ws.98@gmail.com with questions about this mission or the writing project.
Michael Krantz also attended Western Washington University, where he acquired a bachelor’s degree in creative writing, as well as a teaching certificate through the TESOL program (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
