Biography:
Chong-You Chen is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). His research lies in molecular manipulation and surface fabrication to precisely control nanomaterial interfaces and advance analytical chemistry. His recent works focus on improving the molecular recognition selectivity of nanozymes and developing thermal-based patterning strategies for the in-situ synthesis and integration of functional nanomaterials. He received his B.S. and M.S. from National Chiao Tung University in 2011 and 2014, respectively, under the guidance of Prof. You-Zung Hsieh on capillary electrophoresis and nanoparticle-based probes. He obtained his Ph.D. from National Taiwan University in 2018, focusing on the surface molecular environment control through chemical lift-off lithography supervised by Prof. Wei-Ssu Liao. He was selected as a Japan Visiting Research Student in 2018, working on inkjet-printing analytical devices under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Citterio at Keio University. From 2018 to 2022, he worked at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), exploring potential applications of waste LCD glass in sustainable nanotechnology. Starting in February 2022, he joined the Department of Chemistry at National Changhua University of Education. He then relocated to the Department of Chemistry at National Taiwan Normal University in August 2023. He published over 18 peer-reviewed papers and 2 patents in the recent years. He was recognized as a Future Leader by the American Chemical Society CAS (2018) and The Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Member (2018). He was awarded the Yen Thesis Award (2018), Lam Research Thesis Award (2018), Outstanding Thesis Award (2019), Quality Model Award in Material and Chemical Research Laboratories (ITRI, 2020), Young Scholars Industry-Academia Excellence Award (NTNU, 2025), and Newly Appointed Distinguished Talent Incentive Award (NTNU, 2023-2025)
