This league is designed to teach kids the great game of golf in a very safe, Christian, non-competitive, cost effective environment. The rankings and standings are secondary to that.
Additional Program Information
Match Scheduling/ Program Information
-More than 700 kids participate in this great program.
-All golfers are required to register & participate at their current grade level.
-We do make schedule modifications for certain pre-approved religious events (first communion, confirmation, retreats).
-We do not/cannot schedule around anything else including other sports or activities (CYC or not), vacations, spring breaks, etc.
Substitution Policy
-It is expected that all golfers play with their designated teams at the scheduled times listed on the website.
-If you cannot make a scheduled time you may play at a different time with a team of the same grade & gender. Your make-up round MUST be played at the same course it was originally scheduled for.
- 5th & 6th graders may sub with 5th & 6th graders of the same gender. 7th & 8th graders may sub with 7th & 8th graders of the same gender.
-Substitutions can only happen during times when matches are scheduled.
-You do not need to prearrange a sub round. Our Course Managers do a good job of finding a home for the kids that show up. Please arrive 45 minutes prior to the time that you hope to play and introduce yourself to the course manager. Tell him/her that you would like to play a sub round. We ask for patience as the scheduled golfers will have priority.
Scoring Rules and Policy
-After the completion of a round it is up to the designated parent leader to gather all the score cards and transfer the scores to a scoring sheet.
-If you are playing a sub round it is up to the individual golfer/parent to make sure that score is transferred onto a scoring sheet.
-If a score card does not get transferred to a scoring sheet it will not be counted in the scoring system.
-When we calculate an individual’s score we will take the top 4 out of 6 scores to determine a golfer's season scoring average and ranking.
-Included in the 4 best scores above, a child is allowed to have one “sub round” count in that scoring calculation. If a child has more than one sub round we will use the best score of all his/her sub-rounds to be used in the calculation.
-If a child does not have 4 rounds played we will fill in the rest of the scoring sheet with a max score of 63 for the unplayed rounds.
-The team scoring will be determined by taking the 4 best individual scores PER WEEK to come up with a weekly team score. All 6 weeks of team scores will be averaged to come with a total team score. Individual Sub Rounds DO NOT COUNT toward team scores.
Will this Interfere with Other Sports
-This is a common question. Golf is like any other sport, there are scheduled clinics and matches. If you miss a clinic it cannot be made-up, no different than if you missed a baseball game or a soccer practice. Fortunately, competitive players are able to make-up one round of golf if missed.
