Welcome to CE Stoicism

(Cybernetic Ecological Stoicism)
CEStoicism a philosophy (or is it a religion?) built of ideas from:
Systems theory "argues that however complex or diverse the world that we experience, we will always find different types of organization in it, and such organization can be described by concepts and principles which are independent from the specific domain at which we are looking... , it in practices focuses on the more complex, adaptive, self-regulating systems which we might call 'cybernetic'." (http://pcp.vub.ac.be/CYBSWHAT.html)The study of how organisms interact with one another and with their physical environment. Topics includes Panarchy and Ecological Economics."the view that the Universe (in the sense of the totality of all existence) and God are identical (implying a denial of the personality and transcendence of God)." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantheism#Definitions)A philosophy of how to live one's life (microethics).A perspective for a democratic economy that serves the human- (as opposed to capital-) defined needs of society (macroethics).A reframing of individuality. where psychological-individuals (p-individual), defined as coherent and stable conceptual systems, exist across and/or within individual humans. Rather than the traditional view of a person as a continuously present and stable autonomous integration, views individuals as a dynamic collection of variably-interacting P-individuals within the person. This site is organized as an entailment net. It is a collection of linked ideas. Through a a never-ending bootstrapping process, this net can be modified into a more coherent and self-reproducing expression. The CEStoic community democratically creates its own rules about how to change the community's net.
This site is meant to be a type of knowledge commons, where a community self-coordinates to develop and steward a resource. In this case, the resource is a particular worldview and P-individual.
This site meshes with the long pre-existing Principia Cybernetica website (PCw). Parts of this site links to parts of PCw. Because PCw was created long ago and by other people, we used web annotations to add links from parts of PWc to this site and to add notes to PCw pages. To see those links and notes, create a free Hypothes.is account, log in and search for "user:CEStoicism".
