About me

My name is Juan Carlos Moreno Echavarría and I was born in Bogotá in 1968.

I studied Industrial Design at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. Later I studied Foundry and Electroplating at the Escola d'Arts i Oficis de Vic (currently Escola d'Art de Vic) and I took a master's degree in Design and Management of Exhibition Projects at Elisava, Barcelona.

My artistic practice has included sculpture, installation art, writing, electronic art, sound pieces and mechanical objects. I have also worked as an exhibition designer and designed sets and costumes for theatre. I have never felt particularly comfortable working within a single discipline. I am more interested in following an idea than in committing myself to a particular medium.

My work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions.

Since 2019, my artistic research has revolved around scents and perfumery. It is a field I continue to explore with the same curiosity with which I had previously approached other forms of creation.

I currently work in fine art framing at a45º Taller de marcs, in Vic. I have never been interested in art as a single discipline. I enjoy learning different crafts, combining them and seeing what happens when disciplines end up meeting. Cyber_Dives grew out of this way of working.
