CIVIL WAR REENACTING

A variety of Civil War reenacting organizations and groups based around the country and in California perpetuate public awareness and stimulate interest in the historical significance of the War Between the States.  Reenactors strive to recreate the drama, mannerisms, and realities of life during the pivotal time of the American Civil War.  Battle reenactments bring the realities of combat, as well as camp life, to the public.  School day presentations bring living history directly to the classroom.  Organizations are composed of Confederate, Federal, and/or Civilian representations, all of which portray life during this era.  Supporting reenactors are a variety of Sutlers providing uniforms, equipment, and other related supplies.
