USA Pickleball banned these paddles because they exceed the organization's new Paddle/Ball Coefficient of Restitution (PBCoR) standard. The PBCoR test measures how much the ball speeds up after it comes off the paddle. USA Pickleball says that the increased power from the "trampoline effect" can make the sport less about skill, control, and finesse.
The paddles will remain eligible for use in USAP-sanctioned events until July 1, 2025.
