This Privacy Policy explains what data the CV Nest mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you. By installing or using CV Nest you agree to this policy.
The short version: CV Nest stores the resume content you type into it, your email/name (for sign-in), and a list of applications you've added — all encrypted on Google's Firebase. Your profile photo never leaves your device. We do not sell your data, run ads, or share information with third parties beyond what is strictly required to run the app.
We collect only what is needed for the App to function:
Account information. When you create an account or sign in with Google, we receive your email address and display name from the authentication provider.
CV content. The information you type into the resume builder — name, contact details, work history, education, skills, summary, projects, certifications, languages, references, notes, and any custom sections — is stored so it can be synced across your devices.
Cover letters and applied-job records. Cover-letter drafts and entries you add to the Applied Jobs tracker (company, role, status, interview rounds, notes) are stored the same way as CV content.
App preferences. Selected template, theme mode, accent color, onboarding state.
The following data never leaves your phone and is not uploaded to any server we operate:
Profile photo. If you add a profile picture, it is copied to your app's private storage on the device. It is embedded into PDFs you export and is shown in the in-app preview, but it is never uploaded to Firebase, Firestore, or any other server.
Imported PDFs. When you import an existing résumé PDF, parsing happens entirely on-device. The PDF file itself is not uploaded anywhere.
Diary / notes content cache. A copy of your notes is stored locally in app preferences for offline access.
We use your data only to:
Authenticate you (email/password or Google Sign-In).
Sync your CVs, cover letters, notes and applied-job records between devices you sign into.
Render your resume as a PDF or DOCX for you to share.
Display the in-app dashboard, stats, and ATS score (all computed on-device).
We do not use your data to train AI models, target you with advertising, or generate analytics about you. We do not sell or rent your information.
CV Nest relies on the following Google-operated services to run:
Firebase Authentication — handles sign-in.
Cloud Firestore — stores your CV/notes/cover-letter/applications data, encrypted in transit and at rest.
Google Sign-In — used if you choose Google as the sign-in method.
These services are governed by Google's own privacy policy linked above. We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, third-party analytics, or social-media trackers.
Your data stays in our Firebase project until you delete it. You can delete your data at any time by:
Deleting individual CVs / cover letters / notes / applications from inside the app — the delete is propagated to the cloud immediately.
Deleting your account — email us at the address below and we will delete all data associated with your user ID within 30 days.
CV Nest is intended for users 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
All communication with Firebase happens over HTTPS. Firestore documents are scoped to your authenticated user ID and are not readable by other users. Passwords are never stored by us — Firebase handles authentication.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
