CV Keyword Highlighter — Privacy Policy
Last updated October 2026
Short version: this extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data, candidate information, or web page content. All keyword matching happens locally in your browser.
What the extension does
CV Keyword Highlighter reads the text of the page you have open (for example a CV in your applicant tracking system, or a profile page) and highlights keywords you have typed into the extension's side panel, directly on that page. Matching and highlighting run entirely inside your browser.
What data is stored
The only data saved by the extension is your own keyword group settings — labels, colors, and the keyword or boolean-formula text you type into each group. This is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage.local API.
- No candidate data, CV content, or page content is ever saved.
- No data is transmitted to any server. The extension makes no network requests.
- No cookies, analytics, or tracking of any kind are used.
- Your keyword settings are never visible to, or accessible by, anyone other than you.
Permissions
The extension requests access to the specific sites it highlights on (such as your ATS and LinkedIn) and to your active tab, solely to inject the highlighting logic into the page you are viewing. These permissions are used only for that purpose.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address.
